On the hill above the town of Ljubuški there is a beautiful tower that watches over the town. The medieval fortress of Herceg Stjepan, or the Old Town of Ljubuški, was built on a solid, rocky position, at an altitude of 396 meters above sea level.
The complex occupies an area of some 500 m2.
In the Old Town, there is a system of ramparts surrounding the main tower. The ramparts sometimes reach a height of up to 10 meters.
Since 2003, the Old Town of Ljubuški has been declared a national monument of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and thanks to conservation works, it has been largely restored.
Tourists can enjoy observing the old walls, but can also climb to the viewpoint from where there is an excellent view of the city of Ljubuški.
