Old Town of Ljubuški

Above the city of Ljubuški, there is a beautiful tower situated on a hill that watches over the city. The medieval fortress of Duke Stjepan, or the Old Town of Ljubuški, was built on a solid, rocky position, at an altitude of 396 meters above sea level.

The complex covers an area of about 500 m2.

Inside the Old Town, there is a system of fortifications that surround the main tower. The walls reach a height of up to 10 meters in some places.

Since 2003, the Old Town of Ljubuški has been declared a national monument of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and thanks to conservation efforts, much of it has been restored.

Tourists can enjoy observing the old walls and also climb up to the viewpoint from where there is an excellent view of the city of Ljubuški.
